Lucid Dreaming and Dream Yoga

«One great goal of each of you within this incarnation is to become aware that you are dreaming and to become able to make the dream of incarnation a lucid and a conscious dream, one that is, in some ways and to some extent, a matter of your choices and your control»

Q’uo

Lucid dreaming became quite popular in our modern society. Ability to become conscious on the astral plane is not something too difficult to learn. There are special exercises that anyone can practice during their waking life (for example, performing reality check every couple of hours) in order to develop persistent habit of checking reality, even when dreaming (dreams reflect our waking life – that’s why this habit can be easily transferred to the astral plane). When such reality check performed in the dream state, it will prove that it’s a dream and the dreamer will become conscious/awake in their dream.

This is something that majority of the lucid dreamers are doing and most of them achieve great results of being able to “wake up” in their dreams. But what happens next is different for different categories of dreamers.

Great majority of the lucid dreamers use their astral experience solely for the entertainment (and quite often – for fooling others by their stories).

But still there is this small group of spiritual seekers who are practicing lucid dreaming as a part of the Dream Yoga, pursuing the highest goals of personal development and spiritual growth. As history shows, in eastern world Dream Yoga proved to be a shortcut for accelerated enlightenment. But in the wider society the highest goals of incarnation are not always seen from the spiritual perspective.
