Author of “The Ra Contact” Russian Translation ©2023-2024

Margarita AoteaRa

Margarita was born in 1970 into a family of scientists. Until 2007 she lived, studied and worked in Moscow and the Moscow region. As a child, in addition to the school curriculum, she has been actively studying music (piano), figure skating, painting and contemporary dance. She graduated from high school with a Gold Medal (Summa cum laude).

Higher education

At the university she studied exact sciences: mathematics, chemistry, nuclear physics and programming. In addition, she received a Red Diploma (Summa cum laude, valedictorian) in Management with knowledge of two foreign languages (English and French). Later, while living in New Zealand, she studied counseling (also with honors).

Knowledge of English

In addition to the knowledge acquired in the process of specialized academic studies, English is the main language of communication for Margarita in her environment (in her country of residence – New Zealand). Her fluency in both spoken and written English allows her to write articles and communicate freely on philosophical, psychological and any other topics in English.

Artistic mastery of the Russian language

Margarita is currently the published author of three books in Russian, including a collection of poems included in the Anthology of Russian Poetry (the books were published in 2019-2020 under the pseudonym Rita Lev). She was awarded the A. P. Chekhov Medal for her contribution to the development of Russian literature.

Understanding Ra’s Language and Interest in Ra Materials

Despite the fact that Ra’s texts are difficult to understand for many native speakers, Margarita had no difficulty reading the Law of One books in English. The philosophy presented in Ra’s teachings resonated deeply with Margarita from the very beginning, and has since been a major guiding light in her life’s journey, along with the constant practice of Dream Yoga.

Motivation for translating the Ra Contact books into Russian

Initially, Margarita did not intend to get involved in translating texts from one language to another, understanding that her real interest was in the field of research rather than linguistics. However, when Margarita set out to re-read the first four volumes of The Law of One in order to gather additional information about the archetypes, she realized that she had the opportunity to make this reading useful not only for her own research, but also for other seekers who might be interested in learning about these materials not on the basis of existing translations, but perhaps from a more accurate and therefore slightly different perspective.

Thus, the original goal of studying information about the archetypal mind evolved into the parallel task of creating overviews on some of the topics and concepts discussed in the Ra materials. At the same time, the problem of quoting texts in Russian arose. Like many of those who are familiar with the Ra materials on a deeper level, Margarita realized that she would have to translate these quotations herself, because with all her sincere respect for the authors of the available translations who have undertaken such a grandiose project, Margarita wanted to offer the reader her own version of the translation, somewhat different in the style of presentation, and often, and in the meaning derived from the more thorough analysis of Ra’s linguistic expressions.

At this stage, however, Margarita was still reluctant to undertake the enormous task of a complete translation of the books of the Law of One. This reluctance to take on such a massive project lasted for some time until, in the course of discussions with Gary of L/L Research, she finally came to the conclusion that if she did not accept the honor/responsibility of doing an accurate and comprehensible translation of the Ra Contact into Russian, she would be missing the opportunity to do a much greater service than she had originally planned.

It was not an easy decision to agree to do such work, because it involved not only understanding the meaning of each line of the text on a deep level, but also meticulous and painstaking work to find such an equivalent for each word that would, first, accurately convey the meaning inherent in the “multidimensional language” of Ra, and, second, so that the resulting sentences would sound more or less natural in Russian.

Besides, this translation work is one of the many other activities in which Margarita is involved (or has to be involved) in her life, and this particular work is compensated by nothing but her own satisfaction with the result of this work and her understanding of its necessity.

As Ra said in the first session:

«We are not available to many of your peoples, for this is not an easily understood way of communication or type of philosophy. However, our very being is hopefully a poignant example of both the necessity and the near-hopelessness of attempting to teach.
Each of those in this group is striving to use, digest, and diversify the information which we are sending this instrument, into the channels of the mind/body/spirit complex, without distortion. The few whom you will illuminate by sharing your light are far more than enough reason for the greatest possible effort. To serve one is to serve all.»

In addition, the reader who understands English is asked to refer to the original texts in English and to arrive at the essence of the concepts expressed therein on his/her own, since the same phrase spoken by Ra may be understood and interpreted differently by different seekers, or even by the same person but at different stages of life.

The author of this translation guarantees that she has made and continues to make her best efforts to produce translations of Ra’s texts that are as close in meaning as possible, yet still readable. However, she recognizes that some people may have different interpretations or disagree on certain points and/or stylistic techniques. In such cases, the author certainly supports the independence of opinion of opposing seekers and encourages them to follow the author’s example and, filled with gratitude to other translators for their dedicated and tremendous work, create their own complete version of the translation of The Ra Contact books for the benefit of other readers who will also be able to continue this great work.

May the love and light of the One Infinite Creator be with you!
