Dreamwork: honesty, courage & grace
Anyone who has used their dreams for self-discovery and transformational work knows that one of the first stumbling blocks on this path can be an insufficient level of honesty and courage to look into the eyes of the truth. The shock of discovering in ourselves the very qualities we despise in others can be unbearable for many seekers. But it is only through this painful process of peeling back the layers of our own personality shell that we are able to discover our true selves. Honesty, courage, grace and forgiveness are the four wheels of transformation – the vehicle that will take us to the light.
“If you want clear dreams, simply pray to get the message straight. When we do get the message straight, we are often so shocked by what is going on that we need to pray for the strength to deal with what has been revealed. We have to be courageous enough to face the messages and humble enough to realise that we cannot handle all these problems by ourselves, that we need some Grace. By recognising humbly that we need Grace, it comes. Then our lives really begin to change.” (Swami Sivananda Radha)
Sometimes forgiving ourselves and/or others is not easy for our (limited) 3D selves. This is why we turn to our Higher Self (or God) and ask for help in forgiving. It’s through Grace that forgiveness is possible.
